PALEOKASTRITSA
| 25 kilometers from Corfu Town, a distance easily covered by driving through the main road which connects the two areas and is the largest on the island. Two paniculas and many more small coves, luxuriant vegetation and beautiful sandy beaches have established Paleokastritsa as one of the most high standarted touristic locations. North Penicula belongs to the monastery of Theotokos ( Mother of God in Greek) which was established in 1225. Inside the new buildings visitors will find a museum of great interest (icons of Byzantine period). Beautiful Alipa bay is a natural port for sailing and local fishing boats.
